Community guidelines
Last updated: March 2026
canberra.events is built for the Canberra community. These guidelines help make sure every event is welcoming, safe and enjoyable for everyone.
Be respectful
Treat all attendees, organisers and venue staff with courtesy and respect. Harassment, discrimination or intimidation of any kind will not be tolerated. This includes behaviour based on race, gender, sexuality, religion, disability or any other personal characteristic.
Keep it welcoming
Events on canberra.events are open to the community. Help create an inclusive environment where everyone feels comfortable participating, whether they are a regular or attending for the first time.
Communicate honestly
- Organisers should provide accurate event details including location, timing and any costs involved.
- If plans change, update your event listing promptly so attendees are informed.
- Attendees should RSVP honestly and update their attendance if plans change.
Respect the venue
Follow any rules set by the venue or event host. Leave spaces as you found them and be mindful of noise levels, especially in shared or public spaces.
No spam or self-promotion
Do not use canberra.events to post misleading events, spam or unsolicited advertising. Events should provide genuine value to the Canberra community.
Photography and privacy
Always ask before photographing or recording other attendees. Respect people's privacy and obtain consent before sharing images that include them.
Safety first
If you feel unsafe at an event, remove yourself from the situation and contact the event organiser or venue staff. For emergencies, call 000. You can also report concerns to us at hello@canberra.events.
Reporting violations
If you witness behaviour that violates these guidelines, please report it to the event organiser or contact us directly at hello@canberra.events. We take all reports seriously and will take appropriate action, which may include removing users from the platform.
