Inspired by plants and influenced by O'Dowd's journey to project their artistic voice, 'Guide to Surreal Urbias' investigates a relationship between the real and imagined. Through explorations in a selection of paintings, sculptures of textile and mixed media material, the artist reinterprets the colours and forms observed in the world around them into a making of his own. A physical and cognitive shape of the artist's intuition and ponderings. The collection is an ode to growth, observation and memory, driven by process and expressed through the abstract, the contrasting and the loosely figurative.
'Guide to Surreal Urbias' will open alongside 'Embodied Trauma' by Keziah Craven, and 'Friends' by Anna Bonshek.
