About this event

Join archivist, writer and historian Michael Piggot AM in conversation as he discusses his latest book, New Feller Master.

The book explores a significant yet often overlooked chapter of Australian history: the role of the Australian Naval and Military Expeditionary Force in the occupation of German New Guinea.

Drawing on years of research, New Feller Master examines the intersections of memory, empire and the social impacts of conflict through archival records and personal stories.

Historian Dr Michael McKernan will introduce the book, followed by a discussion between Michael Piggott AM and National Archives of Australia curator Dr Anna Edmundson exploring the book's research, stories and historical significance.

Signed copies of the book will be available for purchase on the night.
