Premiering a stunning new commission and celebrating journeys taken and places cherished, the Canberra Choral Society (CCS) proudly presents Wanderlust in Wesley Uniting Church, Forrest ACT. Conducted by Dan Walker, CCS Music Director, with the CCS choir, renowned flautist Sally Walker and acclaimed pianist Anthony Smith.
Wanderlust brings together an eclectic and poetic selection of works to uplift and delight, including the world premiere of a new CCS commission, 'Arboretum', for choir, flute and piano, with words and music by Dan Walker. 'Arboretum' is an exciting addition to the choral repertoire, celebrating memorable and meaningful features and landscapes of the beautiful National Arboretum Canberra.
The program also features works inspired by place, landscape, travel and the natural world, by Edward Elgar, Ralph Vaughan Williams, Anton Bruckner, Lili Boulanger, Eric Whitacre, Sally Whitwell and more.
