Earth and Sea brings together the ceramic practice of Anna Williams and the textile work of Rosalie Rose, exploring our relationship with the natural world through repetition, patience, and the quiet act of making. Through hand-stitched textiles and stippled black clay vessels, both artists create intricate, highly tactile surfaces that reflect the gradual formations found in landscapes and seascapes.
Rosalie's hand-stitched textile pieces utilize natural fibres, botanical dyes, and found materials to echo tidal patterns, currents, and the fluid movement of the sea. Complementing these, Anna's ceramic forms draw on her printmaking background, using meticulous stippling—reminiscent of the winding trails on scribbly gum trees—to celebrate the solidity and detailed textures of the land.
